Andy once served in Bessemer (as shown on this map) but is currently stationed in Hoover, about 10 miles east of Bessemer.

Andy was allowed to call home on Friday morning and let us know he was safe. He sounded good. They saw debris in the wind but were not threatened by the severe storms that went through last week. The power was still out in large areas. His mission president has also been very good about updating parents via the blog. Andy is in a photo from the day after.
