McGee Boys

Hey I was just going through some pictures and found this one from last Easter. Four generations of McGees. I think it's pretty cool. Just think, in like 25 years Benjamin could have a little boy and we could have 5 generations in one picture. (How old would that make Grandpa???)

High School Musical

Tonight, Andy's school had the closing performance of their high school musical. This year it was Beauty and The Beast. Andy had at least 3 parts in it, including the part of a major villian.

Here he is signing autographs after tonights performance.

It was fantastic. We'll show the SF SOTA DVD at the family reunion in July.

ps, ignore the picture dates. These came from Michele's camera.
I just wanted to say Happy Birthday to Josh. He will be 27 today! Josh, you are the best husband/friend ever.
We love you so much.

Grandpa Maynes Birthday

From Grandma Maynes' Journal:
In 1912. I met the man who was to be my husband (his name is John Alexander Maynes but we called him Jack for a nick name). We were married on September 10, 1913 We had a large reception in the lawn in front of our house.
[ten kids later]
Jack died July 10, 1940 and left me with the children to take care of. There was surely a large crowd at the funeral .

Grandma Maynes Birthday

Grandma Maynes

From her history (written in 1977 or 1978)
I Sarah Louretta Despain was born March 17,1890 in Granite Salt Lake County Utah, in a log cabin. ... I was born of goodly parents. My father, William Joseph DeSpain was so kind to everyone. Nothing he wouldn’t do for any one. My mother, Sarah Catherine Egbert, was thought of very highly among all who knew her. When I was born they feared for both my mothers life as well as my own but through both faith and prayers both our lives were saved.

Me, Myself and I

I have always been told that no one ever gets to see pictures of me and after looking at all of our pictures, i realised that the reason for that is because i am always holding the camera. Here are a few pictures from when Jenn was able to get the camera out of my hands. These also happen to be some of my most favorite memories that i have. And before you ask, yes my son is in the shot with me in all three pictures.

Kleigh

Tomorrow is Kleigh (KC)'s birthday . . . .

I wanted to get a jump on wishing him a HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! He's 25 this year--time for the quarter life crisis. = ) Hang on for dear life . . .

Spam comments

So, I just got back from Jordan and was getting updated on the blog when I saw the spam comments. I deleted them and I also changed the settings so that anyone who is not an author to the blog will have to do a word check before posting. Hopefully that will get rid of them (it seems to have worked on my blog) but if not, I will go to comment moderation.
But anyway, like I said, I just got back from Jordan (See picture to the left. This was taken in Petra, Jordan, one of the seven wonders of the modern world. It was really amazing. It is also one of the most famous places in Jordan. You might recognize this from Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade). It was really cool and a lot of fun. I'm also really glad to be back in Jerusalem. I love Jerusalem. Tomorrow I am going snorkeling in Eilat. I guess this is one of the best places to go snorkeling in the world, so I am really excited. Too bad I don't have a waterproof camera. I kind of doubt that anyone does.
So, things are going well for me, I am enjoying myself in the Middle East. I have less then two months left before I have to go back to the real world!

Adam & Betsy

Well i got to thinking and realized that there has been a lot that has happened with Adam and I this past year. And thought that I would fill you in a little on what has been going on with us lately.
Just after we were married we got into a car accident and ended up getting a new car. Shortly after that we moved in with Jim and Carla.
Then in early September we found out that I was almost 10 weeks pregnant. Just after finding this out we decided that not having insurance and living with parents was not going to work!!..
So Adam started to look for a new job. In October he was offered a position in Provo UT, with a web design company. He excepted the offer, and we started to look for an apartment. (Can i just say that looking for apartments sucks!!) He had to start the following Monday and we did not have a home yet, so we went to stay with my sister (Gabi) who lives in Pleasant Grove. I could only stay for a couple of days, due to the fact that her house has three HUGE.... cats. So I went back to Brigham and Adam would come home on the weekends. Then in early November we found an apartment in American Fork, although we were not able to move in until January 1, we were still very excited. So we are now moved in and getting settled. We really love our ward, although it is a very active ward and keeps us busy we still love it. Within three weeks of moving in we were called to the primary and teach one of the Valiant 11 classes.
Yes their are so many kids that they have to separate almost all of the different classes. I think I remember them saying that there are three sunbeam classes.
Anyway, now we are just waiting for the Baby to come, I am due in 6 weeks.
So this is a little bit of what we have been up to this year. We hope that all is going well with all of you, Adam and I have not deciede if we are coming to the
family reunion this summer we have to see how everything goes with the next couple of months. We would love to but the little guy may not think it is as fun as we would. Just Kidding... Anyway we will let you know for sure as it gets closer. Well i've got to go, we would love to hear from you.
Oh and if anyone wants our new address and phone number just let us know and we will figure out a way to get them to you. Well we will talk more later.
Love Adam Betsy and ?

Anna Knight and Freeborn DeMille

GGG Grandparents.
Today is the birthday for Anna Knight. 5 March 1804 in Marlboro Vermont. She married Freeborn DeMille (birthday 3 March 1795) about a week after she turned 15. She died in 1878 while he survived till 1881. Photography became popular in the West in the 1870's so it is very rare to have a photgraph earlier than that.

Anna was the mother of Lora for whom our Laura was almost named, but at the last minute we decided to go with the more common spelling that also allowed her to have the feminine version of my name. Our Anna has two ancestor 'Anna's who were mother and mother-in-law to this Lora.

Frank at the Arizona Ren Fair

IF any of you have seen David Bowie in the 80's movie "Labyrinth" you might recognize this cool looking juggling called "sphere play". Frank is very proud of this video. He has gotten really skillful and even had one little kid convinced he worked at the Fair this year. This clip is from the Renaissance Fair we went to on Saturday, it also has the guy (to the right of Frank) that has an instructional DVD that we bought and also sells the spheres at the Fair. He was very impressed in how much Frank has learned in one year. Thought you all might enjoy it!

Happy #21 Birthday Anna

I already used this picture, but it fits great for Anna too. All grown up and studying psychology with a lab class on babies. Here she is getting some extra experience before her semester began.

Happy 21, Anna.

Love from Dad

Betsys Ticket

So, the other day betsy decided to go to the store to buy some ice cream and root beer. On her way back a cop had like 3 people pulled over to the side of the road and then decided to pull her over too because she didnt get in the left lane when he was pulled over with his lights on. Which, there was a car in the left lane and so it was not possible for her to get over. Anyway, she gets this ticket for not getting out of the way of an emergency vehicle. Stupid Utah quota.
