Born 4th Aug 1222 was our 21st GGrandfather. ...He 'was the most powerful English baron of his time'. He was a 4th great grandson of William the conqueror. Here is a link describing the family. Most of his holdings passed to his son Gilbert shown here in Stained glass. Gilbert also built this castle. We come through Gilbert's daughter, Margaret.
